SPORTS MEDICINE 10, 20 & 30

Sports Medicine 10 provides students with an opportunity to engage in a balance of theory and practical applications of topics related to health services, musculoskeletal systems and injury management. Students learn how to recognize, prevent, assess and manage sport related injuries through multiple perspectives including athlete, coach, trainer, athletic therapist, physician, etc. 
Through a combination of theoretical and practical experiences, 20 level students learn how to: optimize their body's performance through nutrition; create and perform a variety of safe and effective fitness training plans/activities; and master numerous taping, strapping and tensoring techniques to aid/prevent injuries.
PRE-REQUISITE: Sports Medicine 10


Sports Medicine 30 is intended for students interested in continuing on in post-secondary studies in the field of Sport Performance including Physical Education & Recreation or Kinesiology. Students demonstrate training and movement principles related to muscular and cardiovascular development as well as the development of speed, agility, quickness and flexibility.
